On November 3rd, our 6th Grade class went on a field trip to learn about cotton farming at Mickey Diamond’s farm in Jay. Students learned about harvesting, picking and growing this precious commodity God has given us. They rode on the combines and tractors and learned about the operations of this heavy machinery. After a picnic at Mr. Diamonds barn, the children were able to take a sample of cotton home as a souvenir. It was an unforgettable experience and a great opportunity to see “behind the scenes” of the cotton industry.
