Headmaster – Mr. Ron Gilley

B.A. in English with an emphasis in writing, University of West Florida
Joined the Trinitas staff in 2011

Mr. Gilley has been a Trinitas parent since 2002. After retiring from business he served in various capacities on the Board of Governors for nine years. He is an elder in his church and has been married to his wife, Janice, for over twenty-five years. They have two Trinitas educated sons: one is a freshman at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, and the other is in the Fellows Program at Samford University. Mr. Gilley is committed to cultivating at Trinitas both a learning community that is committed to classical content and pedagogy, and a culture that exudes the preeminence of Christ in all things.  



Director of Development – James Cowart

M.Ed. in Educational Leadership, University of West Florida
B.S. in Secondary Education, Pensacola Christian College
Joined the Trinitas staff in 2014

Formerly the administrator at a classical school in Tennessee, Mr. Cowart and his wife Joy (who is a former Trinitas teacher and is currently serving as our assistant volleyball coach) have four children, the oldest beginning at Trinitas this year. Mr. Cowart is in his second year as Director of Development. Mr. Cowart is often called “in the clutch Cowart” because of his proficiency on the basketball court his first year at Trinitas, sinking the winning basket for the faculty and staff at the last second.



Office Manager – Kristie Johnson

B.S. in Psychology, University of Florida
Joined the Trinitas staff in 2006

Ms. Johnson joined Trinitas as a substitute teacher and has since taught kindergarten art, music, fourth and fifth grade science, first grade, Pre-Algebra, and has helped lead the Dutiful Daughters and Lost Arts clubs. She manages Trinitas special events and the office.  Ms. Johnson has one daughter who attends Trinitas and is an ardent volleyball and running team supporter.

School Secretary – Rebecca Peterson

A.A. Pensacola State College
Joined the Trinitas staffin 2012

Mrs. Peterson returned to Trinitas in 2016 after a brief sabbatical.  She and her husband, Sam, are parents to three sons who have been students since 2008.  Mrs. Peterson loves reading mysteries and thrillers, and with three boys you can imagine she also loves sports and the outdoors.

Librarian – Mrs. Cathy Noland

Mrs. Noland has served as Librarian at Trinitas since the school’s beginning. After a brief sabbatical to enjoy her new granddaughter, she will return this year to help us build a quality library that students and parents can enjoy. Wife of former board member Ed Noland, Mrs. Noland is the mother of three Trinitas alums.  


Bookkeeper – Theresa Howell

Mrs. Howell works tirelessly to help the administration and students in countless ways but concentrates on Trinitas income and expenses. Originally from Texas, Mrs. Howell has called Pensacola home for over 20 years. She and her husband Curtis were original Trinitas parents with two children, one of whom is a Trinitas graduate. Mrs. Howell’s granddaughters are our first Trinitas legacies. She whistles while she works and is the proud owner of our Trinitas mascot, Beauregard, a parakeet who mimics her whistle, cough, and even her laugh.


School Nurse – Emily Hunter

Joined Trinitas Staff 2016

Mrs. Hunter graduated from Auburn University in 1995 and has worked in cardiac care and dermatology.  After being a homemaker for 14 years and raising 3 children, she came back to work wearing several different hats!  Emily works only part time in the school office and loves passing her own sons in the hallway who are currently in 9th and 12th grade.  Her daughter Brooks graduated from TCS in 2016. 



Academic Dean/Chaplain – Justin Hughes

The Rev. Justin Hughes has more than ten years’ experience in classical and Christian education, having worked as both teacher and administrator at schools in Florida, Idaho, and North Carolina.  Justin has taught subjects as diverse as Algebra, history, literature, theology, Latin, and music to students of all ages.  Now, in his role as Academic Dean, Justin works to ensure excellence in K-12 curriculum and instruction, and he supports the faculty’s work in the classroom.  As Chaplain Justin cares for the spiritual well-being of the Trinitas community, and he helps teachers bring the Christian tradition to bear on their classrooms and subject matters.  Justin and his wife stay busy raising their four children, two of whom are Trinitas students and two who will be soon.  Justin is a deacon ordained in the Anglican Church of North America.
