For the first time in Trinitas barbecue history, we have sold more than 500 Boston butts! Our faithful dads, Shawn Hennessey and Shannon Parsley, have taken dedication to a new level this week. They arrived on Tuesday afternoon, ready to season BBQ, and have monitored the smoking meat night and day ever since. The dedicated junior and senior students spent Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon rubbing spices on the meat and then our tireless volunteers placed the meat on the smoker. Ten hours of roasting resulted in juicy, delicious meat that literally falls of the bone. If you ordered one, come by the school to pick it up today or tomorrow. If not, mark your calendar for next year and we will save you one! Bon appetite!
The Trinitas Varsity Soccer team began their successful 2018 campaign in June conducting “in the dead heat of summer” workouts to train and prepare for an aerobic athletic season. A several-miles-per-week running regimen helped them build their endurance and ability to compete. And compete they did, ending the regular season with a record of 6-2-2. The Trinitas men qualified for the Final Four competition and in the Semifinal beat friendly-arch-rival Aletheia on Friday night, 3-0. They played in the Championship game against Calvary Christian Academy Patriots of Fort Walton Beach. The match was a hard-fought, intense affair, with regulation play ending in a 2-2 tie. Two overtime periods of 10 minutes each were not able to produce a winner. Therefore, the Knights and Patriots moved to a “Penalty Kicks round” to decide the winner. In a fitting finale to an amazing turnaround year, Calvary prevailed 4-3 in the PK round, leaving the brave Knights with the second place trophy. Well done Knights! Congratulations!
The varsity and junior varsity volleyball lady Knights took home the grand prize last Saturday winning first place in the Panhandle Christian Conference! The junior varsity ladies entered the championship game on Saturday undefeated for the season. They faced Pensacola Christian Academy in the final match and it was an unknown and daunting task. PCA’s excellent team battled hard but our girls ultimately defeated their team and won the championship title. The varsity Lady Knights played Friday night against the PCA Warriors and won in 3 sets. Saturday was the rematch the ladies had hoped for against the West Florida Baptist Conquerors. Not to be outdone after a defeat by West Florida in the regional competition, the Varsity Knights worked and played hard. Their diligence paid off and they also won the conference championship title in 4 sets. It was an amazing streak for our volleyball players and we congratulate them on an outstanding season.
Congratulations to our 2018 All Conference Winners! The Panhandle Christian Conference chose a select few athletes to receive this prestigious award. Varsity volleyball players Jillian Todd, Alex Johnson, Erica Radcliffe, Mekenzie Petersen, and Emma Todd were all given medals. Varsity soccer athletes were also recognized for exceptional play. Seniors Kevin Dulion, Tucker Gregg, and Adam Strickler were each awarded medals. After a final record of 6-1, our Varsity lady knights placed second in the conference. They will compete for a first place overall finish this weekend. The varsity soccer players ended the regular season with a record of 6-2-2, placing third in the conference. They also made it to the final four and will compete for the championship title this weekend. Well done athletes! Fans, come out to support our Knights this weekend at Ashton Brosnaham Park (Friday, October 19th, 4:30 pm-soccer) and Aletheia Christian School (Friday, October 19th, 6 pm-volleyball). Both teams will compete at their respective locations on Saturday in either a consolation or championship game. Go Knights!
For the first time in Trinitas athletic history, our team ended the season undefeated! The JV Lady Knights, led by Coach Joy Cowart, never lost a game in the regular season and will move on to the Championship match next weekend. Competing in the Panhandle Christian Conference, they will have their final game against Pensacola Christian Academy on Saturday, October 20th at 10:30 am. Come out to cheer on these amazing lady Knights as they break records never before seen in our TCS volleyball history.
With a record of 5-1-2, our Varsity soccer players have steadily improved their skills over this soccer season. Last Friday night resulted in a huge upset against rival team Aletheia Christian Academy. After losing to them initially on September 7, they won Friday night with a final score of 2-0. It was a heroic win for our young men whose defense was strong and play, aggressive. Again this week, the Knights were victorious against another tough opponent, the Calvary Patriots. If they win the last two games, they will have won the regular season and will become Regional Champions! Come out to support the team this Friday night, October 5th, as we cheer on our boys and enjoy pizza together at Ashton Brosnaham Park. Fun begins at 6:30PM, game starts at 7:00PM.
The 9th – 12th grade students are already gearing up for the annual Rhetoric Winter Ball. The ball is early this year, so rhetoric families mark your calendars for December 8th. A starry night in New York City is the theme and our students will be ready! What a fun physical education activity – ballroom dancing. It’s the highlight of the PE year.
Give them an inch and they will take a mile……or they may learn to measure all sorts of things! Mrs. Wark’s first grade class used one inch cubes to measure each other’s pencils, hands, arms, feet, legs, and eventually the entire length of their bodies. It was a colorful, hands on, and creative way to visualize length in inches. How tall is your first grader?
Volunteers packaged and prepared our annual Benefit Gala and Auction invitations early this morning and placed them in the mail soon thereafter. Check your mailbox and order your tickets soon! You don’t want to miss out on this special evening of delicious food, an enchanting setting, and irresistible items on which to bid. The Benefit Gala, scheduled for November 2nd, will be one of many opportunities for us to celebrate twenty years and God’s many blessings on Trinitas. See you there! It’ll be a roaring good time!
We invite all Trinitas fans to our first soccer tailgate of the season on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Ashton Brosnaham field. We’ll serve burgers and dogs beginning at 6:00PM as the Varsity Knights prepare to face the Aletheia Lions at 7:00PM under the lights of the stadium. For the ultimate Trinitas fan, the junior varsity volleyball team plays at 4:30PM and the varsity volleyball plays at 5:30PM in the Trinitas Grand Hall. There will be plenty of food for all during the soccer game if you’re inclined to make it an entire sporting evening.
